We never had such a packed weekend. Just last weekend, it was full of non-stop activities. The children enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
Saturday
During the Day
It was Family Day organized by my wife’s company. The fun-filled event was held in an indoor theme park called the Cosmo’s World in Berjaya Times Square. Clown and fire-eater were invited to grace this event. This was the first time J and K were exposed to rides. And they were thrilled by them. They tried all sorts of rides but the condition was daddy and mommy must be around. In today’s event, the biggest reward was not the goodies bag but they got closer to two of their friends, daughters of my wife’s colleagues, S and C. They have met for about 3-4 times before this. But this time, all hell broke loose and they played together like there’s no tomorrow. The bonding J and K has with the two girls has improved tremendously. J takes a while to warm up when it comes to making new friends. So it was only natural that she took a few “meetings” before she got closer to the girls. Of course, K just followed along.
Refused to just being the day for the kids, my wife and I took the roller coaster ride. It was a very long time since I last took the ride. If I didn’t take the ride, I would leave the place with much regret. So while wife was taking care of the kids in the playground, I went to take the ride. And I did the same when it was her turn. Boy was it fun! Though the ride was short and not as scary as I expected, it’s long enough to release all the tension in me by screaming my heart out.
Evening
We paid visit to Uncle Sean. In fact, one of the main reasons was to let J practice her piano as we don’t have one at home. And of course, the other reason was to let the kids mingle with their cousins. I am a strong believer in family relationship and the only way to bond with family members is by visiting them or having dinner together. The kids were having lots of fun that evening and we all gobbled up a glass of mango frosty each specially made by Uncle Sean.
Sunday
Morning
For the first time, we took J and K to visit her friends and sisters – XW and XY – friends they make in kindergarten. The idea was mooted by K and I told him to tell it to XY. In fact, he wanted his friends to come over but eventually it turned out to be the other way around. After some texting with their friends’ mother, we finally agreed to meet on Sunday morning. For a kid, the main attraction of going to a friend’s house is toys, not so much of other reasons. We spent about two hours there and the kids enjoyed themselves very much.
Evening
With the invitation of EX, we went to a lakeside playground nearby to fly kites. Also coming along were our new neighbors. Since the two boys were new to the “gang,” they didn’t really play together. But given enough time, they sure become one gang.
After kite flying, we headed to Restoran Seafood Sungai Yu in Bukit Tinggi for our dinner. The place was packed and fortunately we had made a reservation. Though we had a reservation, we waited for an hour before the food came. Otherwise, surely we would have to find another restaurant. A good idea when we go next time is to order the food as well. There were 6 adults and 5 children.
The seafood there was fresh and delicious. And it was not expensive. We ordered some of their specialties: salted egg crabs, coconut prawns, fried baby squid, steamed fish, taufu, veggie. We wanted to try their grilled fish but later was told that it’s finished. The bill came up to $233.
Now would you agree with me it was a packed weekend?
